Something I have found that really helps motivate me to lose weight is to find something that you really enjoy doing and want to be better at (a hobby of some sort) that relates to being thin/fit.
For example, mine is rhythmic gymnastics, or other flexible/spinning around sorts, and the professional girls have a weight limit so that they can stay light on their feet. While I am by no means professional, I want to get as close as I can get to it.
I find that if you can reach one goal by achieving another, it can be extremely motivating.
